Greenhouse Gas Computerized Management System

Since 2012, the company has established a greenhouse gas computer management system that is linked to the cost management system of the existing ERP (Integrated information System) and has been improving ease of use and accuracy through annual upgrades and user training. The introduction of the system allows the report of accurate greenhouse gas emission and the data which can analyze the increase and decrease cause compared to the goal to the management team in real time, and the reliability of the data can be increased even during the annual third-party emission verification conducted according to the law.

Response of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System

SSANGYONG C&E is designated as an emission allocation company in accordance with the implementation of the emission trading system in 2015 and is required to purchase the emission rights if it emits more than the assigned quantity of emission rights. SSANGYONG C&E recognizes greenhouse gas emission rights as an important financial asset for the company's sustainable development in the long term and economic performance assessment in the short term.

SSANGYONG C&E responded to the implementation of the 2012 Greenhouse Gas Energy Target Management System and the 2015 National Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading System, production, planning, finance, etc. We manage GHG emissions and emission rights assets in a systematic way across all areas of the company.

Based on the entire SSANGYONG C&E business places, the green house gas emissions and emission units in 2019 is showing the trend of continuous decrease. The major reduction factors were identified to be a decrease in the ratio of clinker among cements, an increase in the use and expansion of non-carbonate raw materials, an increase in the use of low-carbon fuels, and the new establishment of waste heat generation facilities. SSANGYONG C&E approved a total investment plan of 82.8 billion won at the end of 2018 to further reduce greenhouse gas and nitrogen oxide emissions, and is pushing the use of waste synthetic resin.
