Yeongwol factory is a factory where SSANGYONG C&E first started the cement business, and the company name "Ssangyong" originated from Ssangyong-ri, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, where the factory is currently located.
SSANGYONG C&E Yeongwol Factory, which aims to be the best inland cement factory, produces not only one type but also various special cements. In particular, we are contributing to the construction of social overhead capital such as LNG storage bases, dams, and bridges by producing 4 types of low heat cements, which have excellent long-term strength for the first time in Korea, suitable for mass concrete structures.
Yeongwol factory of which the top priority goal is the environmental management, has been selected as Korea's first' Environment Management Model Workplace, and has been practicing environment management since then.

SSANGYONG C&E established the first industry's research center in 1975 for the cement quality improvement and the technology innovation.
We have greatly contributed to the development of domestic construction technology by developing the industry's first sulfate resisting cement (5 types), low heat cement (4 types), high early strength cement (3 types), medium heat cement (2 types), super high early strength cement, and rapid hardening cement so far. In addition, we are contributing to the conservation of natural resources, reduction of greenhouse gases, and the establishment of a resource recycling society by developing recycling fuel combustion and process stabilization technology using a kiln, cement raw material utilization technology for various circulating resources, and clinker low temperature calcination technology.
